Ashley Moellinger, MSN, CPNP-AC, MSHQS
The Society extends its appreciation to Louise Callow, MSN, CPNP and Sandra Staveski, PhD, CPNP-AC for developing the PCICS Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Their dedication to this initiative has resulted in growth of the 4 initial SIGs: Interdisciplinary Leadership, Advance Practice Provider, CNS/Educator, and Bedside Nurse. The SIGs provide opportunities for members to participate in committees and projects that support and grow PCICS as an organization and its members as professionals. SIG leadership transitioned in October 2021 to Darren Klugman, MD and Ashley Moellinger, CPNP-AC, MSHQS.
Special Interest Groups provide a forum for networking and collaboration among members. Each SIG meets virtually within its own format, defining individual goals and identifying initiatives to advance SIG and PCICS membership and the PCICS Strategic Plan. Examples of current projects include the Bedside Nurse Handoff Tool, APP Mentoring Program, PCICS Nursing Guidelines contributions, and presentation of CPR for the Soul webinar. To find out more about an individual SIG, meeting format and time, and ways to be involved please contact the SIG co-chairs listed below.
PCICS is excited to announce the development of new special interest groups that highlight the comprehensive team that is imperative in our multidisciplinary approach to quality care of the CHD patient. The new PCICS SIGs include Early Career /Trainee Physician; Physical, Occupational, Speech and Child Life Therapies; Dietician; Respiratory Therapy; and Pharmacist. These SIGs are in the early stages of development and offer vast opportunities for networking and project development within the SIG membership and PCICS. Please spread the word to these collaborative partners in your CICU/Heart Center. Membership to any SIG is free with PCICS membership and there is no limitation to the number of SIGs you may join.
Below is a list of the PCICS SIGs and the co-chairs. Please contact the SIG committee co-chairs, Darren Klugman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Ashley Moellinger (Ashley.email@example.com) for more information.
