Christine M. Riley, BS, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC is a nurse practitioner in the cardiac intensive care unit at Children’s National Health System in Washington D.C. She entered pediatric critical care in 2005 after earning her Bachelors of Nursing from John Hopkins University. Christine joined Children’s National in 2008 and after 6 years as a bedside nurse, transitioned within the team assuming a nurse practitioner position upon graduation from University of Pennsylvania in 2013. She is currently enrolled in the PhD Program at George Washington University.
With special interests in research and performance improvement, Christine is a member of the leadership group aimed at reducing cardiac arrest rates through early identification of high risk patients which will be the focus of her doctoral studies. Additionally, her work involving the sustainability of a robust OR to CICU hand-off process was recently published in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
