Misty Ellis, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC/PC:
I have been involved in pediatric cardiac critical care for more than 20 years. I started my nursing career at Norton Children’s Hospital in their PICU/CICU. Over the course of my career, I received my Doctorate Nursing Practice degree from Vanderbilt University.
I have been involved with building a high functioning team of APP‘s that have become an integral part of daily operations in the CICU. Currently I am the Advanced Practice Provider Director for the Heart Center and Jennifer Lawrence Critical Care Unit at Norton Children’s Hospital. My clinical practice is as a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner in the cardiac intensive care unit. My areas of interest include anatomy and physiology of congenital heart disease, cardiac arrest prevention, professional development of our nurse practitioners and ongoing education of our CICU nurses. I have had a lifelong passion for caring for children and adults with congenital heart disease. I have the greatest respect and compassion for every family whose life is forever changed by their child’s CHD.
