Connections Committee Update – Winter 2022

interior-hero

Happy new year to all! I am happy to write my first committee update as the new co-chair of the PCICS Connections Committee. Many thanks to David Werho for his hard work and dedication to PCICS over the past few years, as he hands over this role to me. I am eagerly looking forward to working with my co-chair, Jill Zender, over the next 2 years. The Connections Committee’s main goal is to strive to reach present and future PCICS members, bring them together, educate, and be a source of information. Currently, we do this through a newsletter, a podcast, social media and the main PCICS website.

As the editor-in-chief of the PCICS Newsletter, it gives me joy to work with an outstanding Newsletter Subcommittee, curate newsletters, reach out to contributors, edit, and to put together wonderful content for our community. Our current team in the newsletter subcommittee is an enthusiastic group with great plans for this new year. As we aim to include more basic educational content, we hope to reach more fellows, junior faculty, nurses, pharmacists and respiratory therapists with our quarterly online newsletters.

The PCICS Podcast is a great production with diverse content that is available on Apple iTunes and Spotify. The Podcast Subcommittee consistently produces entertaining and educational content. I have listened to a few while driving. They are a great way to hear leaders in our field share their thoughts on a wide variety of topics.

Regarding other areas of the Connections Committee, we plan to revamp and relaunch the PCICS website this year, and to connect with our membership through more frequent social media updates on Twitter and Facebook. And we are always looking for ways to engage new members to join our community.

I am available and open to recommendations regarding any area of PCICS communication. Reach out to me on social media with suggestions, comments, questions or complaints. Here’s to a great year for all of us, and for PCICS.
