Summer is over and we are steam-rolling ahead toward our PCICS Annual Meeting! We can’t wait to see everyone in San Diego for sharing of knowledge and science, as well as networking.
The mission of PCICS is to empower a diverse global community of pediatric cardiac critical care clinicians dedicated to improving the lives of patients and their families. While we are dedicated to ensuring that our membership represents a truly global community of pediatric cardiac critical care clinicians, we are aware that the majority of our membership is primarily from North America. Over the past year, we have engaged in strategic and intentional efforts to expand internationally, and we are actively working on the development of international chapters of PCICS, with the first chapter intended to launch in Latin American in 2025! Through this new chapter structure, we are striving to recognize the diverse educational and clinical practice needs worldwide, improve connectivity and increase collaboration between multidisciplinary professionals from various parts of the world, and offer a unique opportunity for bidirectional learning and sharing of knowledge.
As a precursor to launching the Latin American chapter of PCICS, we are hosting several webinars in the coming months to provide education on topics that have been recommended by clinicians from Latin America, and to provide an overview about PCICS and our member benefits.

In addition, PCICS has partnered with the 28th Brazilian Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, which will be taking place from March 19-22, 2025 in the city of Gramado, RS – Brazil. In conjunction with the congress, PCICS will host a Pre-Congress Symposium focusing on the intensive care of specific congenital heart diseases. Additionally, the society will play a key role in organizing the Multidisciplinary Symposium, featuring lectures by distinguished international professionals to share the latest developments in pediatric cardiac intensive care including monitoring and artificial intelligence, teamwork and team training, preventing complications, and learning from mistakes, and is intended to be of interest to all disciplines, especially nursing.
