Nutrition SIG Update

interior-hero

The PCICS Nutrition SIG began meeting in the fall of 2021 and has grown to over 30 members from across the U.S. We continue to meet monthly to network and provide learning sessions on various nutrition topics. Previous topics of discussion include pre- and post-operative feeding guidelines, NEC refeeding practices, human milk fortifiers, growth failure, tube weaning, and more.

The Nutrition SIG has a mission to connect dietitians across the country while working to grow current practices and expand research on nutrition topics in pediatric cardiology. We discuss, collaborate, and share resources via Basecamp and are also planning a nutrition pre-conference for this year’s PCICS conference in December to provide in-depth learning on several pediatric cardiology nutrition topics.

For further information, to join the next meeting, or to join the Nutrition SIG please contact Kristi Fogg (fogg@musc.edu) or Lindsay Lock (Lindsay.lock@childrensal.org).
