Brazilian Congress of Congenital Heart Diseases Pediatric Cardiology Intervention and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery
October 16 - 19, 2024
The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS) aims to empower a diverse global community of pediatric cardiac critical care clinicians dedicated to improving the lives of patients and their families. Our core values are:
- Reverence- We hold a deep respect and passion for the patients and families for whom we have the privilege to provide care.
- Knowledge- We advance the art and science of healing through education and inquiry.
- Equity- We cultivate a diverse and inclusive professional community to eliminate barriers and achieve equitable outcomes for all.
- Connection- We create opportunities to build relationships that foster professional development, community, and collaborative patient care.
As a professional medical society, PCICS promotes educational opportunities, and improved quality, outcomes, and culture within the subspecialty by providing a societal forum for individual clinicians. With the growth of the subspecialty, the Society has grown in scope and outreach as well. International meetings have become forums for the exchange of scientific ideas, promotion of collaboration, and expansion of inter-professional care delivery. Today PCICS’ more than 1000 members represent the interdisciplinary pediatric cardiac critical care team in nearly 30 countries.
This collaboration with the 28th Brazilian Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery is an exciting opportunity for PCICS and we are thrilled to further pursue our mission for international expansion so that our membership represents a truly global community of pediatric cardiac critical care clinicians. PCICS recognizes that the education and clinical practice needs throughout the world are diverse; therefore, international chapters are necessary to specifically address the needs in different geographic areas and provide resources for our members that are more accessible. As part of this collaboration, we will be developing the first international chapter of PCICS in Latin America.
