NeuroCardiac SIG Update

interior-hero

The PCICS NeuroCardiac Special Interest Group was recently developed with an interest in neurodevelopmental and neurologic care of patients in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (pCICU). The aim is to provide a forum for networking and sharing of information, as well as a platform for developing multi-institutional research initiatives related to neurologic and neurodevelopmental care among multidisciplinary pCICU providers. Within the SIG, there are subcommittees related to: 1) Sedation and delirium; 2) Neuromonitoring and Neuroimaging; 3) Mobility and Holding; 4) Feeding; 5) Inpatient Neurodevelopmental Programs; and 6) Parental Mental Health. The subcommittees have formed collaborations with other national groups including the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative (CNOC), PAC3/PC4, and others. Although in its infancy, we are excited to see where this group goes! We welcome all disciplines to join!
